Description

Matsu El Pícaro 2024 is an emblematic red wine from the Toro Designation of Origin, produced by Bodegas Matsu, part of the Vintae Group, with a philosophy based on biodynamic viticulture and absolute respect for the environment. The wine is made with 100% Tinta de Toro grapes, from century-old vineyards between 80 and 100 years old, located in poor soils composed mainly of sand, clay, and limestone, at an altitude of 650–735 meters.

Fermentation takes place in large-capacity concrete tanks (15,000 L), with strict temperature control to ensure it never exceeds 24°C, preserving the wine's freshness and varietal expression. A portion of the wine (approximately 20%) undergoes a brief aging in French oak barrels for three months to add body without compromising its purity. No aggressive filtration or intensive fining is performed, allowing the wine to retain its authentic and natural character.

With an alcohol content of 14.5% vol., Matsu El Pícaro 2024 represents a youthful, fruity, direct style with a modern touch, while reflecting the powerful character of the Toro vineyards and the winery's sustainable approach.
