Sanz Wineries

Vinos Sanz is considered the oldest winery in Rueda. Its history began in 1870 in La Seca (Valladolid), when the family known as “los Donatos” began making wine with Verdejo, an indigenous variety that was then almost unknown outside the region.

Following the creation of the Rueda Designation of Origin in 1980, the winery built its new facilities in Rueda, along the Duero River. Today, it cultivates around 100 hectares of vineyards, with Finca La Colina as its flagship estate, from which some of its most renowned wines come.

Its philosophy can be summed up in one idea: wine is made in the vineyard. This is where its fresh and aromatic white wines made from Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc, such as Sanz Clásico, Finca La Colina, and El Loco, come from.
